The Scout and Guide association has been introduced in our School to nurturethe children responsibility and leadership qualities
Our school's motto “Life in fullness” aims at establishing not just literacy in our children but also develop their sense of responsibility, understanding and leadership qualities. For the complete development of young minds to inculcate qualities like punctuality, sincerity, obedience etc is essential. The Scout & Guide in the school has been active and regular. “Discipline is the refining fire by which talent becomes ability.” This is what we aim to develop through our Scout & Guide. Every year camp with an overnight stay is arranged under the guidance of our efficient Scout Masters and Guide teachers. Competitions are conducted on the theme of social awareness. We have disciplined visit to schools in neighbouring remote village as a part of social service. We perform cultural programmes for those students and give them gifts.
Consecutively for three years, St. Teresa’s Scout Guides have been bagging 1st prize for vocational work.
A separate uniform is adorned once every week to celebrate the spirit and responsibility of Scout and Guides badge.
Our students are trained for signal P.T. and March past. They participate in the various competitions organized by the RSP during the Road safety week. Students are also trained to control the traffic at the signals. Every year the school bags a prize for the best performance in march past and signal PT.
With the view of safety practices to be ingrained in our children, our school pays regular visits to the local police station by the students of 8th to 10th standard. The children learn the practices and day-to-day struggles put up by the service men. This leaves a good impact in the minds of students and is treated as refresher session for the service department so far now. We end up calling ourselves “Friends of Police”.
